The Smith Mountain Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the SML YMCA to co-host two of the area’s springtime events.
The 15th annual SML Business Expo, scheduled for Friday, May 4th from 11am-4pm, will occupy the interior of the facility. Over 100 businesses will be on-site to showcase their products and services, giving guests the opportunity to learn about new and expanding businesses within the area. Admission is free.
The 2018 Brews and Tunes Festival, scheduled for Saturday, May 5th from 1pm-7pm, will be held outdoors on the lawn beside the tennis courts. This festival will feature 20 local breweries and cideries, food vendors, and live music. The SMLRCC rebranded a previous event, Brews and BBQs, to become Brews and Tunes, giving patrons additional food options outside of barbecue. Advanced tickets are $25 and $35 at the gate. Children under six are free.
The decision to move both events from their previous location (Downtown Moneta) to the SML YMCA was largely due to the ability to have the Business Expo indoors. In the past, weather played a significant role in the success of the event. Having both events in the same location also saves the SMLRCC in time and resources, since many of the same supplies are used for both events.
